Welcome to the Division of International Studies at Hanyang University!

As Dean, I work closely with the faculty and staff to provide a friendly atmosphere and a challenging intellectual environment in which students can learn more about the contemporary world. There is a real need in the 21st century for a new generation of global citizens, equipped with interdisciplinary skills and an informed international perspective. The DIS helps to fulfill that need by providing students with an interdisciplinary education and broad set of skills that enable them to find meaningful employment in government organizations, NGOs, multinational corporations, media companies, or research institutes. Hence the motto of the DIS: “Turning Your Dreams into Global Opportunities!”

The DIS has a unique curriculum that provides students with a basic grounding in core areas of the humanities and social sciences and then enables students to concentrate in one of several interdisciplinary fields of study, including International Relations, International Law, or International Business. All of the courses are taught in English and the atmosphere is truly international, with faculty members and students coming from all corners of the globe. The DIS also maintains formal exchange programs with a number of overseas universities and arranges internships for students with government agencies, international organizations, multinational corporations, and smaller companies.
