I am currently working for Air Seoul, a subsidiary airline of Kumho Asiana Airlines. Air Seoul is a low-cost carrier airline company currently operating flights to 10 different cities in Japan, 4 in Southeast Asia and 1 in Oceania. At Air Seoul, I am in charge of marketing and sales management.
Online marketing accounts for most of Air Seoul’s marketing activities. Such activities include planning, designing and publicizing promotions/events on the company’s official website, and executing advertisements through external channels. I mainly work with local governments and tourism bureaus of our destination cities, or other business partners that wish to cooperate with Air Seoul. The main objective is to increase direct online sales and raise brand awareness. Consistently planning and uploading new contents on Air Seoul’s official SNS account is also a big portion of my responsibility. I am also in charge of extracting and analyzing the market trend and sales revenue from our online sales channels. This acts as an important assessment tool as well as an objective standard for planning following marketing activities.
As a DIS graduate, I think that having been provided with courses covering diverse fields of study was a great privilege. It set a very strong foundation for me in understanding the industry and environment that I entered after graduation. Also, the DIS is a pool of many talented individuals. The opportunity to have been able to expose myself to people who have lived in different cities, speak different languages, and culturally express themselves differently has cultivated the ability to embrace diversity and develop insights in the fields I did not know of, which is still positively affecting me outside of school.
