After graduating from the DIS I went on to complete a Master’s degree in Communications at Seoul National University. I now work as researcher at SNUFactCheck, which is under Seoul National University’s Institute of Communication Research. SNUFactCheck is a collaborative project between journalists and academics that aims to deliver correct facts to citizens. Despite its ‘researcher’ title, I take part in most aspects of the operation. My current project involves building a metadata archive of fact-checks that can be utilized for both academic purposes and as a guideline for fact-checkers. My experience working as a T.A. for a course called ‘Understanding Journalism’ was a formative one that made me realize the importance of journalism in the era of ‘fake news’. This led me to my current position.
